Research Assistant Needed: Impacts of Trade, Fiscal and Monetary Policy on Climate Change

Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future and the Global Economic Governance Initiative are seeking a research assistant to work on a modeling project focused on climate change risks and their implications for financial stability, economic growth, and beyond. The project will deploy a System Dynamics – Agent Based model to simulate the role of green fiscal and monetary policies within the context of international trade and climate agreements (e.g., the TTIP agreement under discussion between the US and the EU). Additionally, the project will look at the role of climate stranded assets on systemic risk through the implementation of climate stress tests, VAR and network analysis to inform climate finance policies.

The research assistant will work closely with Dr. Irene Monasterolo and Prof. Kevin Gallagher, and will be part of an international research team involving research institutions in Italy, Switzerland, the UK, and international organizations and multilateral development banks such as InterAmerican Development Bank, the World Bank and the European Investment Bank.
